We are seeking motivated, enthusiastic Civil Engineering students willing to assist a Professional Engineer on active public works improvement projects. Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Attendance at preconstruction and progress meetings, taking minutes and distributing minutes to stakeholders.
- Assisting in review of the contractor’s submittals. Researching manufactures specifications and or ODOT Construction Material Specifications for recommendation to the Engineer of approval.
- Generating and maintaining a projects Submittal, Change Order and Extra Work logs.
- Generating and maintaining project bills of materials.
- Verifying quantity calculations for materials placed.
- Organizing and maintaining project documentation files.
- Collecting and organizing materials tickets and shipping documents.
- Reviewing Certified Payrolls.
- Performing prevailing wage interviews in the field.
- Generating excel spreadsheets to track project data.
- Comparing plans and specifications to actual field conditions.
- Printing plans and specifications for projects and binding into documents for the Inspectors to use in the field.

- Office Management:

- Supervise and support inspection staff, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.

- Business Development:

Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications:
- PE strongly preferred. NICET, NECEPT preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the construction or engineering field, preferably in an office management or administrative role.
- Experience in project management and staff supervision is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools).
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
